EV road trips

Plan an EV road trip with charging stops

Choose a start and destination to preview a driving route and chargers along the way.

Start uses your current location when you allow it. You can type a city, ZIP code, or address instead, or tap the location icon to retry. Stops are suggested along your route based on location and plug type. This planner does not account for battery level or driving range. Check charger access and availability before travel.

Trip planning questions

Is the trip planner free?

Yes. You can preview a route and suggested charging stops for free. A free account is required to save a trip or open directions. Charging stations may charge their own fees.

How does it choose charging stops?

Choose up to five stops. The planner looks for nearby stations along the route and uses your selected EV’s connector types when suggesting chargers. You can change a suggested stop before saving.

Do I need an account to plan a trip?

No account is needed to preview. Sign in with the same EV Plug Finder account you use for charger search to save the trip or open directions in Apple Maps or Google Maps.

How many trips can I save?

You can keep five active trips. Each saved trip expires after 60 days, and you can delete it sooner.

Does the route account for battery range or live charger availability?

No. This planner suggests charging locations along a driving route. It does not calculate battery use, and charger status can change. Check each station before you leave and keep an alternative in mind.
