Privacy Policy

What EV Plug Finder processes

If you choose “Use My Location,” your browser provides coordinates after you grant permission. Those coordinates are used to search for nearby charging locations and are sent as part of requests to the open charging-location data service. EV Plug Finder does not require location permission; you can search by city, ZIP code, or address instead.

If you create an account, authentication is handled by Supabase. Depending on your sign-in method, account information may include your email address, display name, and profile image. EV Plug Finder can also store your selected EV profile, saved chargers, ratings, written reviews, and charger-status reports.

Third-party services

The site uses OpenStreetMap map tiles and data, Nominatim for explicit location searches, Overpass for charging-station and nearby-amenity queries, Supabase for optional accounts and community data, and Apple Maps or Google Maps when you choose to open directions. Those services receive the technical information necessary to handle the request and operate under their own privacy policies.

Local storage

Your browser stores basic preferences such as selected vehicle and filters so the site can remember them. The service worker may cache EV Plug Finder’s own static files for faster loading; it intentionally does not cache map tiles or third-party API traffic.

Sharing and sale

EV Plug Finder does not sell personal information. Public community content, such as station ratings, written reviews, and recent availability reports, may be shown to other users without publishing your email address.

Data choices

You may use the charger finder without an account. Signed-in users can remove saved chargers and can request account-data deletion. Before public launch, set up privacy@evplugfinder.com so users have a working privacy contact.

Changes

This policy may be updated as EV Plug Finder adds features or data providers. Material changes should be reflected by updating the effective date above.
