I-70 and mountain travel
The farther west you go, the more important backup planning becomes. Charge to the level your next segment needs rather than simply targeting a round number.
Build margin before the road climbs
- In cold weather, expect the vehicle to use more energy for cabin and battery conditioning. Leave a larger reserve than you would for a mild-weather city trip.
- If you are heading west on I-70, save a backup charger beyond your preferred stop so congestion or an offline station does not become an emergency.
- For airport parking, confirm the current DEN parking location and charging rules before departure; parking availability and construction patterns can change.
- For north-south Front Range travel, compare I-25 corridor chargers rather than detouring through central Denver.
